Bulgaria’s coastal Varna reports 54,717 more tourists in 2015

“Number of tourists, who visited the Bulgarian coastal district of Varna in 2015, has increased with 54,717 more people compared with 2014,” Deyan Slavov, Director of the Territorial unit of the National Statistical Institute-Varna, said speaking in an interview with Radio FOCUS.
In his words, the share of foreign citizens is the biggest, with 35,609 more compared with 2014. Tourists from Romania, Russia and Germany were most numerous.
“August is the strongest month of the summer tourist season. Some 225,996 tourists chose Varna’s Black Sea coast in August 2015. The total number of the night-stays on the territory of the district Varna is 914,713, some 619,826 of whom were foreign nationals,” Mr Slavov explained.
