Bulgaria culture minister presents director Ted Kotcheff with Golden Age – Star honorary sign

Bulgarian Minister of Culture Vezhdi Rashidov presented film and television director Ted Kotcheff, who is of Bulgarian origin, with the most prestigious honorary sign of the Ministry of Culture, the Golden Age – Star, for his exceptional merits in world cinematography, the press centre of the ministry announced.
Speaking at the ceremony, Rashidov announced he had spoken to Deputy Prime Minister Ivaylo Kalfin days ago about the forthcoming granting of Bulgarian citizenship to Kotcheff.
The minister handed the renowned director the original text of the Ministry of Culture’s proposal concerning the granting of Bulgarian citizenship to him.
The document has already been sent to the Ministry of Justice.
“We hope this will happen quite soon and we will tell Ted Kotcheff “Welcome home!”,” Vezhdi Rashidov commented.
Ted Kotcheff was moved to tears after being awarded the Golden Age – Star honorary sign and thanked for being conferred the honour.
