Bulgaria President met with King Abdullah II

 President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev met with Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, King of Jordan, during his official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on Sunday, the press centre of the President’s Office announced.
The two discussed the similar positions of Bulgaria and Jordan on important topical issues of regional and international aspect, as well as the preconditions for closer cooperation between the two countries. 
The Bulgarian President and the King of Jordan acknowledged that the long-term ties of trust and friendship were a good groundwork for activation of the bilateral political and trade-economic cooperation. 
Rosen Plevneliev and Abdullah II of Jordan exchanged opinions on issues of the international agenda, the situation in the Middle East and the Balkans as a result of the changed security environment in the region and the world. 
The two leaders declared themselves in support of the closer coordination of the efforts and more active exchange of information among the partners in the fight against extremism and radicalisation. 
During the talks they stressed on the key role of the Balkans in the tackling of the migration wave heading at Europe. 
The two officials also discussed the need of a pan-European approach and more serious role of the Middle East countries in coping with the migration crisis.
On Sunday President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev wason a working visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Mr Plevneliev’s visit was connected with the meeting of state and government leaders of Southeast Europe and the Middle East, which is focused on extremism, migration and security in the region of Europe.
The participants in the meeting also discuss the current threats and the need of prevention in the fight against radicalisation.
