Bulgaria tourism minister organised meeting over Tourism Act amendments

Bulgarian Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova has invited representatives of ecological organisations, the tourism sector, the local authorities and others to join a discussion on the planned amendments and supplements to the Tourism Act.
The event was broadcasted live online on the official website of the Ministry of Tourism.
The meeting aimed at gathering all interesting parties to discuss the planned changes and find a balance in the proposals for environment protection and camping rules.
Due to the high public interest and in order to find a balance among the proposals made, as well as to precise the separate texts, the public debate on the draft bill for amendments and supplements to the Tourism Act was extended with two more weeks, until March 28, 2016. The deadline extension came at the order of Bulgarian Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova.
“The most important result achieved at today’s discussion was a decision to establish rules in terms of campsite services, which was supported unanimously.” That is what, Nikolina Angelkova, Minister of Tourism, told journalists after a meeting on the changes in the Tourism Act, organised by the Ministry of Tourism.
According to the Minister, the public discussion on the amendment bill will be extended by three months, and more if necessary to find the maximum balance in all texts that somehow provoke discussion.
She explained that she took such decision because there was great interest and many different opinions.
"After this meeting I proposed all proposals to be sent to the Ministry. We will summarise them and publish them on the site in tabular form. We will create a working group in terms of campsite serviced and will establish rules and procedures for this to happen in line with the relevant ministries and representatives of all interested parties on the subject, so we will work out model rules for camping in narrower format, which again will be subject to discussion and then to find their place in the Tourism Act,” the Minister specified.
"I'm glad that we united around the idea that there must be order and rules in order to have sustainable tourism development and for environmental protection so as to exploit the natural resources of our country," Angelkova said adding that the idea was for the changes to take effect for the next summer season.
“Thanks to the efforts paid by the Ministry of Tourism and the branch we believe that Summer 2016 will be very good season,” Nikolina Angelkova, said during the meeting organised by the Ministry of Tourism.
“We will have very good summer season in Bulgaria, thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism and the branch, not because something somehow surrounds us,” the Minister stated.
"Like the Ministry of Tourism is paying daily efforts on our main markets our whole tourism industry does the same so we can enjoy this high rate of early bookings we have at the moment and this high growth of ordered charters to Varna and Burgas airports, which gives us reason to believe that Summer 2016 will be pretty good season," she said.
