Bulgarian-Turkmen Commission for Economic Cooperation held sitting in Sofia

 Sofia Hotel Balkan in the Bulgarian capital city hosted the third session of the Intergovernmental Bulgarian-Turkmen Commission for Economic Cooperation, which will take place on March 17-18. 
The sitting was co-chaired by Bulgarian Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Lilyana Pavlova and Turkmenistan’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Eldash Sheripov, the press office of the Bulgarian Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works announced.
The meeting was focused on strengthening the cooperation in different fields of mutual interest – trade, agriculture, transport and information technologies, construction, tourism, sports, education and science, energy and others. 
The 3rd session of the intergovernmental commission will end with the signing of a protocol on the sitting. 
The agenda of the meeting also included the organisation of bilateral meetings between the Turkmen delegation and representatives of the Bulgarian ministries and institutions with the purpose to discuss the opportunities for development of the bilateral relations in the field of mutual interest.
Bulgaria considers Turkmenistan as a priority political and economic partner in Central Asia with whom we wish to develop friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation. That is what Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Lilyana Pavlova said during the third session of the Intergovernmental Bulgarian-Turkmen commission on economic cooperation, the press office of Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works said.
Turkmenistan also considers Bulgaria as a strategic partner in Southeast Europe and the Black Sea region, said in turn, the Minister of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan, Eldash Sheripov who is co-chairman of the commission on behalf of Turkmenistan.
Minister Pavlova noted that our country highly evaluated the results of the visit of Prime Minister Boyko Borisov to Turkmenistan of last August, which restored the dialogue at the highest level between the two countries. 
Then were signed several agreements, most of which have already been implemented. 
“We hope that thanks to increased cooperation at the political level we could report higher levels of trade and economic relations between our countries”, said Pavlova and added that this session of the Commission identified sectors of the economies of the two countries to which there was mutual interest and in the coming months would be made efforts to expand them.
During the meeting were presented investment opportunities in Bulgaria and the measures that the country applied for the promotion of business development in the country. 
It was also disused development of transport links between Bulgaria and Turkmenistan.
