Bulgaria minister, Rosturizm head open Bulgarian stand at Intourmarket fair in Moscow

 A growth of 30% is registered in bookings for Bulgaria, according to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), the press centre of the Ministry of Tourism announced on Saturday.
Bulgaria takes the central place at one of the biggest fairs on the Russian market – Intourmarket, which is held on March 19-22.
The Bulgarian stand was the first one visited by head of Russia’s Federal Agency for Tourism (Rosturizm) Oleg Safonov.
Mr Safonov held a meeting with Minister Angelkova. The two officials also greed the participants in the Bulgarian stand.
The talks were attended also by Bulgarian Ambassador to Russia Boyko Kotsev.
“Bulgarian business reports a more and more intense interest on the part of Russia, while intensive meetings and joint initiatives held over the past year are already producing results,” Nikolina Angelkova said.
The Bulgarian cabinet member and Oleg Safonov also discussed the possibilities for more ambitious presentation of Bulgarian tourist products and the results yielded so far indicate a growth in the interest shown in some segments, which reaches up to 30%.
Mr Safonov noted it was all due to the joint efforts and active actions on the part of Bulgaria and to good cooperation with the Bulgarian Minister of Tourism.
Ambassador Kotsev commented very good organisation of work had been established at the Bulgarian embassy and visas for Russian citizens were issued in the shortest possible time.
A tourism fair will be held in June to present Bulgaria in downtown Moscow, it was agreed at a meeting between Minister Angelkova, Oleg Safonov, and Vladimir Chernikov, Head of the Department for Multicultural Policy, Interregional Cooperation and Tourism of Moscow.
The Russian side will cooperate in providing a central location in the capital city, where opportunities for tourism Bulgaria provides can be presented outdoors.
The data on a growth in demand for offers in Bulgaria registered on the Russian tourism market was also confirmed by ATOR Executive Director Maya Lomidze, who also met with Nikolina Angelkova.
According to her, an increase of 30% is seen in early bookings for Bulgaria and lots of tour operators that have so far worked on other markets are redirecting their operations to the country.
30 new tour operators have so far applied for accreditation to work with Bulgaria.
Minister Angelkova pointed out interest in the specialised phone line launched at the beginning of February for the Russian market was growing.
Inquiring made to it concern mostly details about routes, prices of services, and others.
Russian customers are displaying a keener interest not only to the traditional kinds of tourism – summer and winter ones – but also to special offers in balneology tourism, spa tourism, festival tourism, golf tourism, ecotourism, rural tourism, and many others.
Minister Angelkova also attended the official opening of the fair, during which a special forum will be organised to present opportunities for tourism in Bulgaria.
Efforts made in this direction are actively supported by the fair organisers.
Information about the country is provided through the audio system at the fair.
The Bulgarian stand is the first thing each visitors sees immediately after entering the expo centre.
Therefore, guests to the forum are welcomed with bread and salt by boys and girls dressed in traditional Bulgarian costumes.
The programme also includes the tasting of Bulgarian wines, folklore performances as well as a demonstration of iconography, making carpets, and embroidery.
Bulgaria’s stand covers 104 square metres. It has been organised by the Ministry of Tourism and the municipalities of Nesebar and Kavarna as well as the Kamchia Sanitary and Health Complex will take part in it.
The Intourmarket fair is organised with the cooperation of Rosturizm, the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency, the Russian Hotel Association, and other leading structures in the sector.
1,450 companies from 138 countries and all Russian regions took part in the fair in 2015, while visitors to it numbered over 80,000.
Bulgaria takes part in the fair for an eleventh consecutive time.
