Bulgaria takes part in biggest intl tourism fair on French market

Bulgaria is taking part in the biggest specialised tourism fair in France, Salon Mondial du Tourisme, with its own stand.
The event is held on March 17-20, 2016 in Paris, the press centre of the Ministry of Tourism announced on Saturday.
Visitors and exhibitors as well as the public have expressed an intense interest in the country.
Bulgaria is among the most desired by French people destinations for the summer of 2016, according to early bookings data the local media have revealed.
Les Echos, a French economic daily edition that has one of the largest circulations in the country, published detailed information about the trends in French tourists’ demand.
According to it, Bulgaria ranks first with respect to French people’s preliminary bookings for this summer (compared to last year’s corresponding period).
Bulgaria registers a growth of 106%, which puts it in the ranking before established destinations, such as Portugal (which registers a growth of 60%), and Spain (which registers a growth of 38%).
The data is provided by the French syndicate of tour operator agencies.
According to French people, Bulgaria is a safe destination offering tourist products at attractive prices.
Extra attention is paid to all-year-round tourism opportunities the country provides.
Bulgaria is also among the top 3 most sought-after tourist destinations, Marianne Chandernagor, director of the tourism fair, has confirmed.
Interest displayed in the Bulgarian information stand at the fair is very keen, which was covered by national media, such as RSI and Agence France-Presse.
Le Petit Fute, one of the tourism magazines with the widest circulation in France, published in its latest edition travel notes about the capital Sofia and the second-biggest city of Plovdiv.
The Bulgarian stand at Salon Mondial du Tourisme covers 24 square metres.
The municipality of Elena and a company are represented at it besides the Ministry of Tourism.
Family and group holidays as well as tours in the country’s interior and along its Black Sea coast are the most sought-after offers.
Cultural heritage tourism and the Bulgarian archaeological richness as well as balneology and spa tourism opportunities are also among the specialised services French tourists find attractive.
Bulgarian wines and traditional specialities are tasted every day at the country’s stand in Paris.
Lessons in the workshop for making martenitsas are also drawing hundreds of visitors.
