Law-enforcement, judicial authorities in Bulgaria capital held briefing on recently solved crimes

 Senior Commissioner Marieta Ivanova, head of the Sofia Interior Ministry District Directorate, and District Prosecutor Nataliya Nikolova, head of the Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office, and other officials, held a press briefing on Sunday, March 20.
The officials provided details about successful operations held in the past days, which led to the solving of different crimes.
Bulgarian police arrested three people for a murder attempt in the village of Trudovets, municipality of Botevgrad.
District Prosecutor Nataliya Nikolova, head of the Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office, announced the news speaking at the briefing.
“On March 13, a scandal over personal matters burst out between two Roma families from the towns of Botevgrad and Etropole. They gather in the village of Trudovets and start fighting. Several people were injured during the fight. One of the victims suffered a severe brain injury,” she explained. 
As a result of the investigation three people were pressed charges.
“Two people have been arrested over car thefts on the territory of the country,” District Prosecutor Nataliya Nikolova said further.
A special operation was carried out in the town of Ihtiman, following operational information received by the law-enforcement authorities. 
Ms Nikolova explained that during the raids the police found parts of vehicles stolen in Sofia, Pazardzhik and Plovdiv.
“Police of the Bulgarian capital city Sofia detained four citizens of the town of Svoge for abduction,” Senior Inspector Petar Grozev announced.
“Three men and an accomplice organised a trip to Sofia for another man, under the pretext that they had found him a job. During the trip on a not busy road the three men staged a need to stop the vehicle. They handcuffed the victim and put him in the luggage booth of the mini-van they were travelling by. Later on they asked the victim for money in order to release him. The handcuffed man agreed and they left to Sofia to find an ATM. While at a mall in the capital the victim managed to escape and call the police,” the police official explained. 
Nataliya Nikolova explained that the kidnappers knew that the man had recently sold real estate and had large amount of money at that moment.
