Bulgaria condemns Brussels terrorist attacks

Bulgarian officials condemned the terrorist attacks that rattled Brussels on Tuesday, killing and injuring dozens of people.

“I sharply and categorically condemn today’s brutal terrorist attacks in Brussels. Bulgaria stands firmly behind Brussels as a sign of solidarity against terrorism.”
This is what Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said in connection with a series of terrorist attacks in the Belgian capital city.
“Brussels is not just a Belgian capital city. This is the capital of United Europe. This is the heart of a community Bulgaria belongs to. Today, more than ever before, the Europeans should show the world that we will not allow the terrorism to destroy our civilisation. I know that we will do it in the most convincing way because this is part of our common values, our common moral and culture.
I would like to convince our friendly Belgian nation and its government that Bulgaria is with them in this hard moment and they can count on us, on our help and solidarity.
I express my deepest condolences to the families and friend of the victims and wish fast recovery to the injured people,” the statement says further.

“I was deeply shocked and sorrowed by the news about the terrorist attacks at the Zaventem airport and the metro in Brussels, which killed innocent citizens and injured tens of people. Bulgaria severely condemns these acts of violence. Such actions, targeting the peaceful citizens, cannot be justified.”
This is what Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev said in a letter of condolence sent to H.M. King Philippe of Belgium.
“On behalf of the Bulgarian nation and me personally, I would like to express our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims. In this hard moment, I would like to express our solidarity and commiseration, as well as wish fast recovery for the injured people,” the President writes further.

“Today we witnessed an unprecedented terrorist attack against the capital city of United Europe. I am convinced that this attack will not be left without consequences. Its authors should be detained and handed to the justice.”
This is what Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Daniel Mitov said in an official statement about the series of explosions in Brussels.
“In this hard moment Bulgaria stands firmly behind its friendly Belgian nation in its sorrow for the victims and the injured.
Europe is united in its solidarity with the Belgian nation. Together we most severely condemn this brutal act of terrorism.
Europe will find the best way to protect its civilisation and culture. Brussels is our common capital. It is a symbol of our freedom and common values, and it will be protected. The Europeans will not succumb to the fear and together we will overcome the terrorism,” Daniel Mitov said further.
