Bulgaria’s Operational Headquarters on Security and Migration came out with instructions to the institutions

Bulgaria’s Operational Headquarters on Security and Migration held a sitting under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister for Coalition Policy and Public Administration and Minister of Interior Rumiana Bachvarova, the press office of the Interior Ministry announced.
The sitting was also attended by Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov, Defence Minister Nikolay Nenchev, Minister of Healthcare Petar Moskov, the heads of the State Agency national Security (SANS), the Head of the Defence, the Commander of the Land Forces, and other officials, as well as the head of the President’s Office Deyana Kostadinova.
The operational headquarters made a review on information submitted by the national services in view of the aspects which led to a change in the security environment. Ministers reported on measures already taken today. Participants in the meeting announced that the measures taken were in line with the agreed plan for countering terrorism.
“We found that in the current situation there is a risk of a terrorist threat but no concrete threats to our country do exist at the time,” Deputy Prime Minister Bachvarova said after a meeting of the national operational headquarters.
Based on instructions for follow-up activities given by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, who also participated in the meeting and based on the analysis, the National Operational Headquarters issued instructions to institutions:
To carry out checks on the state of preparedness to counter terrorist threats;
To strengthen their activities for collection, evaluation, analysis and exchange of information on specific threats and security environment;
To make review and assessment of response plans and update them if necessary;
If necessary, to conduct additional training of employees depending on the nature of the risk to the possible terrorist activity;
To check the functioning of communication and information systems;
To strengthen the security of individual strategic sites, mass events or separate buildings and structures with mass presence of people;
To prepare transport and communication facilities to ensure their actions;
To prepare for the implementation of additional specific security measures depending on the degree and nature of risk;
We urge citizens to rely on trusted sources of information.
To be vigilant and to report suspicious objects and persons if notice such.
To follow the instructions of the police, when found them in such a situation.
