What is achieved by BRC is largely thanks to the BRC Youth organisation: Chairman

“What is achieved by the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) is largely thanks to our youth organisation,” Chairman of the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC), Hristo Grigorov, said for Radio FOCUS – Plovdiv.
In his words, BRC is currently the most recognisable NGO, which helps a lot the people and state institutions.
According to Hristo Grigorov, the BRC Youth organisation has representatives in all initiatives in Bulgaria.
“We are very proud with their work and that not only because of the assistance they render, but also because through them we manage to convey what we have inherited from our grandparents - to be good, compassionate and willing to render assistance,” Grigorov said.
He added that they were not only the future of BRC, but of Bulgaria in general.
On the refugee crisis Hristo Grigorov said it was a consequence which would continue to flood Europe until the root cause was eradicated. According to him, everyone knows the reason why.
“The best thing is that these great men who rule the world, began to talk more often, began to meet each other, and I think this is a guarantee that the cause will be removed,” Grigorov said. According to him Bulgaria is protected because it is currently being used as a "transit" country and expressed confidence that we will find a solution.
The BRC chairman said further that what awaits Europe as a whole was not good and the problems came from the European Union.
“The EU had to introduce rules that would be binding on any country two years ago, when the refugee problem started. Now each country makes its own rules. There will be no EU within five years if things continue that way,” Grigorov said.
Commenting on the blockades on the Bulgarian – Greek border he said: “The blockade at the Bulgarian – Greek border breached the most fundamental right in the European Union – free movement of people and goods”.
According to him, this case once again shows that something in the EU is wrong because it is unacceptable to close borders between two friendly countries like Bulgaria and Greece.
He said he believed that the idea of the EU would be stronger and all countries together would be able to find a way to restore free movement of people and goods.
“All people have right to protest and to defend their rights, but this should not come at the expense of another country, as happened in the case of the Greek blockade," Grigorov said.
