The number of unemployed in Bulgaria reached 409,700, or 12.3%, reported dir.bg. Compared to Q2 2011, the unemployment rate has increased by 1.1 percentage points.

In Q2 2012, the economically active population in Bulgaria in the age group 15-64 was 3,283,100 persons or 66.6% of the population in that age group, showed preliminary data from a survey of the National Statistical Institute (NIS).

The unemployment rate in Bulgaria, taking into consideration seasonal factors, was 12.4%, compared to 11.2% for the same month last year. In Bulgaria, this indicator stood at 12.2% in May 2012, compared to 10.4% for the EU and 11.2% for the Eurozone, reported Eurostat
