Red Cross to distribute a second tranche of EU food aid

Distribution of essential foodstuffs to socially disadvantaged people under the second tranche of the EU-funded charity programme will begin on Monday, the Bulgarian Red Cross announced. It is financed by the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund and is administered by State Fund Agriculture. Its implementation involves local authorities and the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency. The needy will obtain their products at 337 distribution centres of the Bulgarian Red Cross all over the country. More than 17,000 tonnes of food will be distributed during the second tranche to over 309,000 needy people across the country.
