PM Boyko Borissov: The assessment of our Government is being made by credit agencies

“The tripartite coalition boasted a budget surplus of BGN 4 bn and we inherited a BGN 1 bn gap in the budget,” PM Boyko Borissov said in front of journalists. “We are trying to raise minimum wages and pensions, and we fund the largest infrastructure projects. The money should be made to work and not be spent in the way the tripartite coalition did it. Had this money not been spent, we would have it now,” added PM Borissov.

In response to Reuters’s assessment that the Government has failed to make Bulgarians’ life better, PM Borissov answered with a question: “Which government has coped with the global crisis or has made life better in any country in the last three years? The assessment of our Government is being made by rating agencies and all of them raise Bulgaria’s credit rating. Citizens’ savings in banks have exceeded BGN 32 bn and huge projects have been implemented in just a few years, at a time of a most serious crisis,” stated PM Borissov.
