Obama invites PM Borissov to the USA

American President Barack Obama has invited Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov to a meeting. The visit should take place in December. Borissov's visit is among the first meetings of Obama after his re-election as President. The invitation to a visit was made by John Brennan, Special Adviser to the American President on counterterrorism. This happened at his meeting with Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov in Washington.

Special adviser Brennan emphasised that this will be one of the first meetings of Obama with a foreign leader since his re-election.

Deputy Prime Minister Tsvetanov conveyed Borissov's congratulations to Obama on his re-election, as well as his wishes for a new successful four years at the helm of the United States.

During the meeting, Brennan emphasised that the President's Administration and the American people as a whole have always considered Bulgaria as an important strategic ally in Europe and in the world, the press centre of the Interior Ministry informed. Brennan and Tsvetanov also discussed the investigation of the terrorist act in Bourgas.

According to the mutual consent reached at the meeting, today's globalisation makes no country in the world safe against this type of criminal acts.
