Sofia concerned over consequences of Russia-Turkey conflict

Bulgaria’s ambassador to Turkey Nadezhda Neynsky has commented that the conflict between Turkey and Russia, arising in connection with the downed Russian aircraft yesterday, can escalate and cause major consequences for the refugee crisis and the development of economic ties in the region. This would also have an impact on the very society of Bulgaria because of the division between supporters of rapprochement with Russia and those who support the pro-Atlantic policies. In the complex situation that has arisen, de-escalation of the conflict must be sought and contacts between the two sides, said Ambassador Neynski.
