Bulgaria may send up to 1,000 military men to protect its borders, if necessary: Minister Nenchev

Bulgaria can send up to 1,000 military men to protect the country’s borders, if necessary, Bulgaria’s Minister of Defense Nikolay Nenchev told media. In Minister Nenchev’s view, a new wave of refugees would head towards Europe and Bulgaria. The tension in Syria has been escalating, which would increase the number of Syrian refugees, Minister Nenchev further said. Terrorism in Syria can not be destroyed without a land military operation. So far Bulgaria has not been asked to take part in such military mission, although theoretically the country may join land forces of other allies in such operation. We are to discuss that hypothesis, if the country is asked to join such mission, Minister Nenchev concluded.
