Israel's Transport Mnister: The responsibility for keeping tourists alive and healthy was entirely with the Bulgarian state

The Israeli Minister of Transport Israel Katz is convinced that the militant group Hezbollah is responsible for the bus bombing in Burgas. The aim of the group and its Iranian backers was to kill as many civilians, particularly women and children, as possible, newsru.co.il cited Katz, who appeared on "The Week in Israel", a Sunday programme on RTVi.

Asked by the TV host whether the attack could be attributed entirely to a failure of Bulgaria's secret services and police force, or Israel is to be blamed too he said: "The full responsibility for tourists' life and health lies with the host country, in this case the Bulgarian Government. It and it alone has the obligation to do everything in its power to ensure that the country's visitors, especially Israelis, who are in danger, feel safe. The matter has been an object of constant communication between our secret services and their Bulgarian counterparts but we cannot possibly warn Bulgaria and every other country in the world about every single alarming piece of information we've come across - they have to ensure safety within their own borders and avert incidents."
