Unit 6 of Kozloduy NPP is back in operation

Unit 6 of the Kozloduy NPP was switched in parallel with the country’s power system on Wednesday shortly after 11 am. The generator was switched off yesterday after a failure in the safety control system of the turbine generator (the conventional, non-nuclear part). The systems and the equipment of the 1,000-megawatt unit are functioning properly and this was confirmed by the tests performed. Later, operations for reducing the power of unit 5 began, which will be decommissioned in coordination with the Energy System Operator. The generator is to be prepared for stable operation during the coming winter season.
