Bulgaria defends in Brussels its turbot quota

“This year, we have managed again to defend our turbot quota before the European Commission. Production of oriental tobacco in Bulgaria will not be restricted either,” said Minister of Agriculture and Food Miroslav Naydenov on bTV. He expressed hope that the problem with the unpaid salaries for December of the protesting employees of the Agricultural Academy will be settled today, but added that the matter is not the prerogative of the Agriculture Ministry. He explained the sharp reaction of the Deputy Minister Svetlana Boyanova with the fact that the demands of the protesters are not justified. “They ask her for something she is not responsible for. They have spent their money and instead of trying to hold a dialogue in a good tone, they quarrel with her and want her resignation. They have their management and their board, they are autonomous,” said Miroslav Naydenov. He appealed to Bulgarian consumers not to worry about the foods they will put on their table during the holidays – they will be safer and cheaper than last month.
