Bulgarian Orthodox Church commemorates Dormition of the Mother of God

 Bulgarian Orthodox Church commemorates the Dormition of the Mother of God on Monday, August 15.
The Orthodox Church claims that Saint Mary died at the age of 64.
3 days before her death Archangel Gabriel told her that God wished to take her to His kingdom.
Her last wish was to see the apostles, who appeared before the door of her home in Jerusalem in some miraculous manner.
The Orthodox Church also says that the soul of the Mother of God was received by Christ upon death.
Saint Mary was buried in a cave near Gethsemane, the entrance of which was blocked by a stone. When it was rolled away a few days after her burial, the people found only the cloth her body had been wrapped in.
The churches and monasteries in Bulgaria will serve a solemn mass to commemorate the feast.
