Cardiologists Use Billboard to Urge Health Minister to Resign

The Bulgarian Cardiology Institute put up a billboard in the port city of
Bourgas on Monday with a message on it urging Health Minister
Stefan Konstantinov to resign. The billboard is in one of the
city's central boulevards, the Institute said.

The reason for the appeal is what the Institute describes as a
dramatic reduction of subsidies for invasive cardiology and
life-saving procedures.

The Institute said its four hospitals are worst affected by the
reduction. Mortality caused by heart attack in Bulgaria has
halved since 2008 thanks to invasive procedures carried out in
these hospitals, the Institute said.
