Borissov: The final inspection will make clear which Deputy Agriculture Minister will be dismissed

By the end of the day, it will become clear whether the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food will be replaced, announced yesterday at noon Prime Minister, Boyko Borissov at the BAS (Bulgarian Academy of Sciences) training facility.
"I am launching an inspection of a 300-decare arable land in order to detect whether it is being unduly transferred for the construction of a photovoltaic park. If this is confirmed, I will demand a resignation today," said Borissov, without naming any of the three Deputy Ministers of Miroslav Naydenov concerned.

A little later, the Agriculture Minister Miroslav Naydenov stated that he had ordered an inspection of the 196-decare land in the Targovishte District, specifying that the results will be ready after the holidays.

According to rumours, the person singled out for dismissal is the Deputy Minister Svetlana Boyanova, who is responsible for EU funds absorption. Some news websites even reported that she had submitted her resignation but the press office of the Agriculture Ministry officially denied this information.

On the morning Nova TV block, PM Boyko Borissov stated yesterday that Miroslav Naydenov was performing well and he did not intend to replace him.

"All measures needed for the improvement of the Cabinet's operation will be applied when necessary and when I decide that there is a better candidate for the respective post. I think that I will replace one or two Deputy Agriculture Ministers. At this stage, the current Minister is performing well," said Borissov.

The PM also added that the resignation submitted by Tsvetkov did him credit. He explained the dismissal of Marii Kossev from the post of Deputy Minister of Economy with the fact that, for two years, nothing had been implemented with respect to the energy sector. "I do not need deputy ministers whom I cannot find for an entire week because they are on official trips abroad," commented Borissov.
