Chiefs of Lukoil arrive on an emergency visit to Sofia

We thought we had reached an agreement with the Bulgarian customs authorities on the delay of the installation of the fuel measuring devices by the end of the year. On Friday (July 22) the situation looked different, stated to RIA Novosti Dmitry Dolgov, the Spokesman of the Russian private Oil Company Lukoil, which owns the Lukoil Neftochim Burgas Refinery on the occasion of the revocation of the tax warehouse license on the part of the Bulgarian National Customs Agency. According to him,  Lukoil's management is currently holding talks with representatives of the Bulgarian authorities in Sofia.

The unexpected visit was due to the termination of the license warehouses agreements between Neftochim Burgas and Oil Terminal Rosenets of Lukoil Neftochim Burgas. The Customs Agency announced that the decision was officially presented to the company on July 26 2011 and effective as of this date. The reason was that no fuel measuring instruments were mounted as required by the Ordinance on the Tax Warehouses. The deadline for this installation expired as early as last September and the reason for having it there was accurate reporting of available fuels and excise taxes imposed on these.

The production of Lukoil Neftochim has been suspended, confirmed yesterday CEO and Supervisory Board Member of Lukoil Neftochim, Valentin Zlatev, after meeting Finance Minister Simeon Djankov and Head of the Customs Agency, Vanyo Tanov. For over three hours, the three politicians talked about the revoked tax warehouse license. Afterwards, Zlatev stated that the Burgas Refinery has gone into an emergency mode of operation.
