The report for the stress test of Belene NPP is ready
“Russian Atomstroyexport company, the National Electricity Company and the technical consultant WorleyParsons announced that they were ready to demonstrate the safety of the future Belene Nuclear Power Plant (NPP),” stated officials from the Russian company yesterday. The report was drafted, following the stress tests requirements for NPPs in the EU. The Mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Sofia is expected to debate on the report, on December 12,” explained officials from Atomstroyexport. According to the document, the future NPP meets the highest standards of safety in case of natural disaster, or even has a protection if a plane crash occurs on its site. Experts say that the reactors of Belene NPP will be of the latest 3rd generation and will be able to operate safely for at least 60 years.
