Probable reduction in the BEH Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) is expected to be reduced from five to three persons, announced yesterday insiders for Klassa daily. Probably, the Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism, Evgeni Angelov will be dismissed from the Board of Directors, as well as the current Executive Director of BEH, Maya Hristova. The proposal had to be considered at a meeting late last night in the Holding.

This information was not confirmed officially until the end of the editorial completion of Klassa's issue, while two persons rumoured to be released from office failed to answer their phones. The Economic Ministry also refused to comment on the upcoming changes. The Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism, Traicho Traikov, is on an official visit to Azerbaijan together with former president Georgi Parvanov.

Maya Hristova has been acting as the Holding's CEO since 2010. Before that, she served as Deputy Minister in Traikov's team. At that time, it was envisaged for BEH to be disbanded, while the currents discussions refer only to the separation of Bulgartransgaz SPLTD and the Electricity System Operator (ESO) SPLTD from BEH's structure. Hristova's post as Deputy Minister was taken over by Mari Kosev who was later replaced by Delian Dobrev.
