Rosen Plevneliev: I will not officially introduce the first lady to the public

Newly elected Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev announced on bTV yesterday that he would not introduce officially his wife Yulia to the public. According to him, this decision was taken by both of them. "I have the most beautiful wife. She has always supported me," said Plevneliev. 

The President stated that during the National Revival Process his father had been hiding Muslims persecuted by the Communist government, which had intended to change forcibly their Muslim names with Bulgarian ones.

"All people in the town of Gotse Delchev remember my father as a good-hearted, cordial and emotional person. I know that Bulgarian Muslims will always remember him with love. He did many good favours to our fellow citizens, who were persecuted by the Communist rule," stated Plevneliev. His father understood and sympathised with the Bulgarian Turks, without even realising that he could have problems with the Communist government. Fortunately, he was not punished for his humane deeds.
