Some 30% growth in the number of tourists in Pamporovo

“The number of tourists in Pamporovo has increased by some 30%,” the company CEO Marian Belyakov said on Monday, cited by BTA. Overnights at hotels report a 15% growth. The most numerous are the Greek tourists who are traditional visitors on weekends and the number of British tourists has increased by 10%. Data about bookings show a high level of occupancy for March as well. If there is still snow, hoteliers hope that the ski season will continue in April. As of March 11, a 20% price discount will be in force.

On two pages, the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet presents Bulgaria’s ski destinations of Bansko, Borovets, Vitosha, Pamporovo, Chepelare and Dobrinishte, posted economynews.bg. The publication pays special attention to the SPA centres and the possibilities for charter flights, and includes Internet addresses, telephone numbers and a map of Bulgaria’s winter resorts.

‘The Road of Roman Emperors’ is the topic of a memorandum to be signed between Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania and Croatia, announced the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism. This is expected to happen during the regional conference for Southeastern Europe ‘Sustainability in Country Tourism’, to be attended by Deputy Minister responsible for tourism, Ivo Marinov. It will be held on February 22-24 in Belgrade and Novi Sad, concurrently with the International Tourism Fair in Belgrade.
