MEET seeks an auditor for Bulgaria's gas connection with Serbia

The Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism (MEET) has started a public procurement procedure that will select an auditor for the preparation, research and planning of the inter-system gas connection between Bulgaria and Serbia, according to the official site of the Public Procurement Agency.

MEET wants to establish and confirm that expenditures in the financial report required by the contract for free funding are correct, acceptable and actually made. The idea is to make sure that outlays under the project are in line with European and national regulations. The audit will also look at whether all transactions linked to the operations are properly accounted for.

The projected value of the audit is BGN 8,540 and bids will be accepted till November 23, 2012. The contract will be awarded to the firm offering the lowest price. Gastech BG is the company carrying out the feasibility study. The total length of the route from Sofia via Dimitrovgrad to Nish will be about 150 kilometers. The pipeline will connect the two countries' national gas distribution networks and ensure the supply of up to 1.8 billion cubic meters of gas every year.
