Incomes in agriculture increase by 8.7% in 2012

As of November, the real income index in agriculture in 2012 registered an increase of 8.7%, compared to 2011, and the income in terms of factor costs - of 9.8%, according to data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI). The net operating surplus/net mixed income in agriculture increased by 10.4%, compared to the previous year, mainly due to the higher subsidies of BGN 191 mln, while the net income of entrepreneurs rose by 10.7%.

The final output of agriculture in 2012 at basic prices amounted to BGN 8,656.6 mln, or 1.8% more than the previous year. The increase is entirely due to the 11.9% price growth. In 2012, intermediate consumption in agriculture was BGN 5,359.4 mln, having increased by 0.6%, compared to 2011 due to the 7.1% increase in prices and the 6.1% drop in volume. The largest share in intermediate consumption is that of fodder additives - 29.7%, followed by the addition of fuels and oil - 22.6%. The gross value added in agriculture in 2012 amounted to BGN 3,297.2 mln and increased by 3.8% over the previous year, which is a result of the 20.7% price increase.
