Bulgaria Prepares Frigate for Arms Embargo Enforcement against Libya

The Bulgarian frigate Drazki is being
prepared for participation in the arms embargo enforcement
operation against the Gaddafi regime in Libya under instructions
from Defence Minister Anyu Angelov, the Minister said on
Wednesday. He added, however, that no political decision has
been made yet to send the ship.

"The time limits for the operation are unknown. According to its
general plan, which is confidential, other ships may join in,
including our vessel. We have not yet offered assistance
officially, because there is no political decision to this end,"
Angelov said.

He ruled out the possibility of Bulgaria contributing to the
operation in any other way than by committing the frigate and
two medical crews.
