Some BGN 3.4 bn agreed under OP Transport

Contracts signed for free financial assistance under Operational Programme Transport amount to almost BGN 2.240 bn. With this money, the funds agreed under the programme reach BGN 3.411 bn, announced the Transport Ministry. Actually, the money disbursed to end beneficiaries and contractors under EU infrastructure projects in Bulgaria total BGN 888 mln, out of which BGN 668 mln for 2011.

By the end of last year, some 51.34% of the money under the contracts for the construction of Trakia motorway or BGN 249,290,000 had been paid, announced the Road Infrastructure Agency. Out of this amount, BGN 247,410,000 was for construction work and BGN 1,874,000 - for supervision. Construction work will continue throughout the winter season on some of the major road infrastructure projects which are being implemented with co-financing from EU’s Cohesion Fund via OP Transport. Busy construction work is going on on the Maritsa and Struma motorways, on the Hemus highway in its section from the Sofia Ring Road to the Yana road junction and on the Kardjali-Podkova road.
