Introduction of e-services would save some BGN 80 mln per year

“About BGN 80 mln a year will be saved by the electronic linking of 20 main registers, including the Commercial Register, the Cadastre, USCRASP (Unified System for Civil Registration and Administrative Services to the Population), etc.,” Transport Minister, Ivaylo Moskovski, said during the opening of documents for participation in the e-governance tender. A total of 15 companies and consortia filed applications. According to Moskovski, the procedure for electronic identification will be launched within 45 days.

The project plans for the implementation of five separate positions, for each of which separate applications should be submitted. Under the tender terms, a company can win only one position. The budget of the project will total BGN 18 mln, to be extended under Operational Programme Administrative Capacity. Contractors are to be selected within 35 working days, during which the price offers of companies meeting the technical requirements of the assigner should be opened. The project must be implemented by March 7, 2013. “The companies need to complete their job a month before the deadline because a one-month period has been earmarked for summarising the information and submitting it to the Operational Programme in order to reimburse the funds,” said Valery Borissov, Deputy Minister of Transport. According to him, there is no precise information about the number of departments and administrations offering electronic services and their introduction in municipal administration is currently going on.
