50% of the grants under OP Fisheries negotiated

The grants contracted under Operational Programme (OP) Fisheries are nearly 50%, while 14% of the projected funds were transferred, according to the report on the OP's implementation. The total number of registered projects reached 238. Overall, 100 contracts were signed, while 68 of these were approved projects of private beneficiaries. The total amount of funds contracted by May 22, 2012 reached €49,652,365 (49.08%), while 58 projects worth €13,771,098 (13.61%) were subsidised. The report was presented at the ninth meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the Operational Programme Fisheries (2007-2013), attended by Stephanos Samaras, Head of the Directorate General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, European Commission, as well as by the management of the Executive Agency on Fisheries and Aquaculture (EAFA), experts from the European Fisheries Fund Directorate with the Agency, along with institutions, and local initiative groups and fishing branch organisations of the Fisheries sector. The Agency will now be based in Burgas, decided the Ministers at their regular meeting.
