Wage increase only in hospitals without debt stipulates the agreement between syndicates and employers

Wages in the health care system will increase only in hospitals with proven financial stability and no liabilities. This agreement was reached between employers and trade unions at a meeting with Health Minister Desislava Atanasova on Tuesday.

Thus, employers and syndicates reached an agreement on signing a new collective labour agreement in the health care system, the Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA) reported.

During the meeting, the Executive Chairman of BIA Bozhidar Danev reminded that under Bulgarian and international legislation on labour relations, only employers and syndicates can be parties in collective labour agreements, while representatives of the State cannot.

The collective labour agreement in the health sector is expected to be signed next week and take effect as of January 1, 2013.
