An Indian company may outsource its production to Bulgaria

The global conglomerate WIPRO will begin surveying the opportunity for launching production of hydraulic cylinders in Bulgaria, announced the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism. The possibility of outsourcing the company’s IT activities in Eastern Europe to Bulgaria is being considered as well, became clear at a meeting of Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Delian Dobrev in Delhi with the management team of WIPRO, employing 120,000 people from 70 nationalities. WIPRO’s net profit amounted to $7 bn last year.

Minister Dobrev is on an official visit to India’s capital in order to attend the 17th session of the Bulgarian-Indian Intergovernmental Joint Commission for Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation. The top Asian manufacturer of agricultural machinery - ESCORTS – has registered a company in Bulgaria and will start assembling a new make of Farmtrac tractors. The company plans to expand its investment in our country later on. ESCORTS GROUP produces equipment for agriculture, construction, railway transport and components for the automotive industry.

During his visit to Delhi, Minister Dobrev met with the Indian Minister for Science and Technology Vayalar Ravi and Minister of Tourism Subodh Kant Sahay, and discussed with them the prospects for cooperation in areas such as science and green energy, and the opportunities for deepening the contacts between Bulgarian scientists and Indian scientific institutes and research centres. Trips for Indian tour operators in Bulgaria for acquainting them with our golf, SPA and seaside resorts and trips for Bulgarian travel agencies in India will be organised in the future.
