Online trade in Bulgaria is 7.6%

“Electronic shopping in Bulgaria accounts for 7.6% of all trade, compared to the 8% average for Europe. Therefore, it has great potential for development,” said Reiner Vitka, CEO of Praktiker - Bulgaria. The company was the first among its competitors on the Bulgarian market to open an online “Do It Yourself” store, which will offer more than 5,700 items. Within just a few days, we had more than 30,000 visits, showing great interest. According to Vitka, over the next two years, Praktiker will open two more stores, one of these will be in Sofia. The new electronic platform is intended to cover regions of the country where the chain has not stores. “The experience of our chain in other countries has shown that it takes two years for the establishment of this kind of trade. People prefer to shop online mainly more weighty goods and such of larger dimensions because in this way they avoid the problems associated with their transportation,” commented Vitka.
