Ivaylo Moskovski: The Bulgarian State Railways has bought 30 brand new carriages

May will see the introduction of 30 brand new carriages by the Bulgarian State Railways company, the Minister of Transport Ivaylo Moskovski announced on TV7's Good Morning Bulgaria. Most of the machines are already in the country, going through the compulsory certifying procedure. The process takes a while since most components are delivered by different suppliers, each required to provide an authenticity certificate. Moskovski said the manufacturer is to be blamed for the delay.

The Transport Minister also presented the new electronic ID cards, which are expected to cost between BGN20 and BGN30 and will contain the individual's Personal Identification Number and electronic signature. The new cards, part of the E-Government project, will allow citizens to use various services provided by state authorities and organizations and will not be obligatory. The system will make its debut in May in Sofia Municipality with about 50 online services. The rest of the institutions and municipalities will need more time for upgrade.
