Ivaylo Moskovski: There are not enough projects under OP Transport

“The most serious problem in the absorption of funds under Operational Programme Transport is that at the beginning, there were very few drafted projects,” said Transport Minister Ivaylo Moskovski to BNT. According to him, an analysis of the state of the BDZ’s (Bulgarian State Railways) Cargo Transport Department coordinated with the World Bank would be ready within a few weeks. “It will give us a snapshot of the company which would be of use if the Government decides to privatise it. The optimal option for it is to find an operator and a financial institution with a strategic view of things,” pointed out Moskovski.
Passenger transport would increase by 5% due to the inflation but, nevertheless, train transport would remain the cheapest kind of transportation,” the Minister commented on the decision of BDZ Holding.
