Minister Dobrev: Three companies have purchased bought documents for gas exploration in the Teres field in the Black Sea

“Two European and one American company have already purchased documents for gas exploration in the Teres field, deep in the Black Sea,” Focus agency reported, quoting Economy Minister Delian Dobrev who broke the news at the first regional gas conference titled Gas Perspectives. Dobrev said that all three companies have proven experience in gas and natural resources exploration. “Bulgaria has two strategic objectives - local production of gas and diversification of gas sources. Our country expects the advertisement for the St. Marina field, which is located in the northern part of the deep Black Sea, next to the Khan Asparouh field, to be soon published in an European newspaper,” pointed out Dobrev. Last year, gas explorations were launched in the Khan Asparouh field in the northern part of the Black Sea.

“The Silistar field in the southern part of the Black Sea is also a priority of the Economy Ministry for gas exploration and once the Supreme Administrative Court makes a decision, the procedure for explorations in it will begin,” explained Minister Delian Dobrev, adding that the potential and capacity of Silistar is similar to that of Khan Asparouh.
