More people will likely choose Bulgaria for their summer holidays because of the security in the country

We expect a busy summer tourism season, as more people will likely choose Bulgaria for their holidays as a result of the security in the country. This is what H.E. Emma Hopkins, British Ambassador to Bulgaria, said during a briefing on the actions taken to enhance the security in Bulgaria for the upcoming summer tourism season, FOCUS News Agency reported.
“We are very grateful that we have the opportunity to participate in this meeting. It has now become a regular meeting, with sittings twice a year, and is very constructive and active. Its purpose is to discuss the winter season and some incidents, so that such incidents would not be repeated in the summer season,” H.E. Ms Hopkins explained. According to her, the fact that Bulgarian Minister of Interior Rumyana Bachvarova chaired the meeting was very telling of the intentions of the Bulgaria to guarantee the safety and security of tourists visiting the country.
“Minister Bachvarova was the one to ensure that a forum was held, where we could raise the questions of interest to us. An example for this is the form that the Ministry of Interior has translated in several foreign languages – English, German, Russian, and which tourists could fill in in cases of incidents. This is a way to facilitate the procedure and the leave a good impression in foreign tourists from their visit to Bulgaria. We, the representatives of foreign embassies, also have our duties and responsibilities, and one of them is to inform tourists that plan on visiting Bulgaria about the requirements and legal realities, which they have to observe. One of the questions we discussed was the translation – when a tourist needs a problem to be resolved swiftly, translation services to be provided,” H.E. Ms Hopkins added.
