The inspections indicate that the umbrella and lounges prices range between 2 and 10 lev, said the Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova in "Wake up" on Bulgaria’s Nova TV. She said it’s crucial to ensure the security and the safety of the tourists especially in today's international environment.
"Not surprisingly, one of the main reasons for the destination choice is related to safety and security," explained Angelkova. According to her there is an increase of tourists in the country
"In the period between January-May 2016 there were over 2 million tourists. This is 14% more than last year. Only on the Black Sea are significant growth rates - for Burgas are 18%, Varna - 23% of Dobrich - 34% in this period, "she said. According to her, the Russian market, which is important for the country, has a 30 percent increase in visas issued. She explained that from 15 May to 30 June there were about 180,000 visas issued, which is an average of 5000 a day. Tourism Minister reminded that every year from April to May there are preparatory meetings for the entire tourism industry. .She touched the topic of the actions of the NRA and the Interior Ministry, which are aimed at combating crimes related to the state budget. The Minister said that they want the increased income to be used for advertisement of Bulgaria.
Regarding the prices of the umbrellas and the lounges at the beginning of the summer, she clarified that the first inspections of the beaches are already conducted.
"About 96 beaches were checked. The inspections show that the umbrellas and the lounge chairs range from 2 to 10 lev. I can not guarantee that there will be 70 lev prices in some individual beaches, accompanied with additional services," she said.In connection with the shortage of staff in the industry she pointed the Council for tourism staff, where the main steps are drawn.
"There are no waiters, bartenders, receptionists, bellboys - the main staff, who touch the tourist and form his impression. It is not necessary for them to be with an university education, but they should be very well qualified, "she added. Tourism Minister commented another step in the tourism sector.
"Seasonal workers could be paid under preferential terms from all non-EU countries, in line with the activity of the employers. We are currently finalizing the regulations. Wait for information, "she added.
