Nine offers for the construction of the Kardzhali-Podkova route

Nine offers have been submitted to the Road Infrastructure Agency for the construction of the route between Kardzhali and Podkova. The bidders are: Greek company Aktor, Austrian Alpine Bau, the consortia Makaza, Makaza Trace, Euro Asphalt-Road Engineering, Rhodopes, Construcciones Rubau-Sofstroy, Smolyan Roads 2011 and the venture Kardzhali-Podkova. The project envisages the rehabilitation of an 8-km-long stretch of the existing road, as well as 24 km of new construction. The budget projected for implementation of the public procurement order is €32 mln, to be allocated under Operational Programme Transport.

The project is currently in the phase of expropriation procedures. The procedure for the land where the main route will pass has been completed. The adjacent technical infrastructure is to be repaired now.
Archaeological research along the main route has been completed except for one site which must be completed by May.

A committee of nine members will select the contractor, it will examine and evaluate the technical proposals within 55 days. The price bids of the admitted candidates will be opened afterwards and the winner will be the candidate who has offered the lowest price.
