A total of 244 new companies at the International Technical Fair in Plovdiv, September 26 – October 1, 2011

A total of 244 new companies will be presented for the first time at this year's International Technical Fair in Plovdiv, stated the organizers of the biggest fair for investment goods in Southeast Europe. It opens doors today and will run until October 1, 2011. “The emergence of new exhibitors comes as a result of our efforts to provide more attractive conditions for participation,” said Bogomil Bonev, Executive Director of the Fair.

According to preliminary data, some 884 direct exhibitors and 590 represented companies from 44 countries will partake in the exhibition, which is a 57% growth, compared to last year. “The foreign expositions are larger in size than those last year, recording a 23% growth in the covered exhibition areas. Russia is this year's partner country and its presence at the event is very important for the Bulgarian businesses,” said Bogomil Bonev.

A total of 4,652 companies with participation of Russian capital and 396 representative offices of Russian businesses are registered in Bulgaria. Last year, Russia ranked third in terms of volume of investments in Bulgaria after the Netherlands and Cyprus. The turnover between Bulgaria and Russia increased by 32.9%, compared to 2009 - more than double of the overall growth in trade with all countries, and reached nearly $4.7 bn. So, Russia occupied the second place in the foreign trade of Bulgaria, ranking first in imports and 10th in exports, which grew by 44.2%. Our country exported to Russia medicines, wines, valves, accessories, fittings and spare parts for automobiles and trucks, petroleum oils, cosmetics, batteries, agricultural products, foodstuffs. Russia mainly delivered oil and natural gas, raw materials and products of the mechanical engineering.

“Three models of electric cars, which are already in series production, will be the surprise of the Plovdiv Motor Show, where the visitors will see some 175 exhibits,” said Stefan Hadzhinikolov, Executive Director of the Association of Car Manufacturers and their Authorized Representatives for Bulgaria (ACM) - co-organizer of the exhibition. “The market shows signs of recovery and there is a 21% growth, we expect to finish the year with 24,000 cars sold,” he added. The exhibition in Plovdiv provides good conditions for the realization of such ambitious goals, offering the opportunity all the new samples to be seen in only a few hours and a good choice to be made,” Hadzhinikolov said.

The visitors can get acquainted with the latest technology, machinery and equipment in the numerous international exhibitions: Aquatech (Technology and Water Management), Autotech (Transport and Auto - service Equipment), Eltech (Electronics and Electrical Engineering), Eneco ( Energetic and Ecology), Infotech (Information Technology), Mechanical Engineering, Stroytech (for Building Materials, Machinery and Technology), Chemistry, Intermin Expo (for Mining Industry) and Motor Show Plovdiv. Nearly 50 conferences, seminars, presentations, business forums, consultations and discussions are scheduled in the business program of the International Technical Fair.

Businesses are very active

Entrepreneurs from the branches: environment, energy, energy saving methods and equipment, equipment for waste processing, water and air treatment systems, are very active. This is confirmed by the strong interest in the Eneco exhibition for Energy and Ecology, where the number of orders has grown by 38%, compared to last year and the exhibition areas are 57% larger. The Electronics and Electrical Engineering also occupy leading positions in terms of successful businesses, according to the Eltech exhibition. The number of firms from these branches partaking in the fair has increased by 70% and the exhibition areas - by 67%, compared to last year. The Mechanical Engineering exhibition has also recorded growth - the number of participants has increased by 105% and the exhibition areas - by 92%. This shows that the industry has recovered from the stagnation and that our companies have restored their positions on the international markets.
