Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov: No one is blackmailing the Prime Minister or holding him dependent

There is no one who is blackmailing the Prime Minister or holding him dependent, Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov told journalists on the occasion of the recently revealed documents of the declassified Buddha file, according to which Boyko Borissov was recruited as an agent. The Interior Minister said that he is not familiar with the new documents on the Buddha file that were disclosed on Thursday night by the site bivol.bg, the aim of which was to insinuate Boyko Borissov's "priority criminal orientation". According to Tsvetanov, from now on, a constant circulation of compromising documents is to be expected, which, according to him, may be fake. "The fact that Prime Minister Borissov agreed, he actually asked for the declassification of the first publications according to Bulgarian legislation, was a very clear sign that there is no one who is blackmailing the Prime Minister or holding him dependent. I think he has also proven this with his managerial approach and all that he has achieved in recent years," Tsvetanov said.

The Minister explained that he has been employed by the Ministry of Interior (MI) for 18 years and that every employee there, as well as at the MoD, has a personal file in the database. "When you leave the system, this case is archived, it may be required and used when you apply for work in the MI again." Tsvetanov asked the Director of the Human Resources Department of MI if anyone, in the period in which he left the Ministry - since October 2005, has used his personal file. It turned out that, in 2006, when the GERB project was already spoken of and Tsvetanov was a Deputy Mayor of Sofia, his file was requested and taken by the Director of the Human Resources Department. At the time, Rumen Petkov was Minister of Interior, Tsvetanov added. According to him, his personal file was requested and viewed in April 2009 as well, probably by then Interior Minister Mihail Mikov.
