Some 10% increase in the number of Romanian tourists expected

“We expect some 10.5% growth in the number Romanian tourists this year at the Dobrudja Black Sea coast,” said Dimitar Dimitrov, Chairman of the Hotel and Restaurant Association in Northeastern Bulgaria, during the tourist exchange, opened in the town of Dobrich yesterday.
He pointed to the well developed infrastructure as a decisive factor for this. The industry expects some 15% increase in the Russian market as well. According to the association, the bookings made so far show about 20% increase in the number of German vacationers. Since bookings are still going on, the expectations are that the number of holiday-makers from Germany would increase by another 5%. “The discount packages booked by March 31 show that this summer the tourist season would be more successful for the Dobrudja Black Sea coast,” added the Chairman of the branch association.

The data of the association showed that last year, guests from Poland and the Czech Republic returned to the Bulgarian market, though not in the traditional volumes from previous years. According to Dimitrov, the increasing number of these vacationers is a proof that Bulgaria is one of the best destinations in terms of prices and accommodation.

At the tourist exchange in Dobrich this year, more than 30 companies are offering jobs for the new season because of the growth in the number of bookings. Albena JSC is expected to hire some 10- 15% more personnel for the new summer season. Employers from the Sunny Beach and Golden Sands resorts, from the seaside village of Kranevo and the town of Balchik also seek staff. The crisis last year and the year before led to lay-offs of personnel and demand for higher qualification, which results in better quality services.
