The Central Election Commission: the difference in support between Pleveliev and Kalfin is 10, 66%

Rosen Plevneliev won 39.83% of the vote, Ivaylo Kalfin -29.17%, Meglena Kuneva - 14.06%, showed the interim results of the Central Election Commission (CEC) yesterday. CEC officials stated that 87.59% of the protocols from the Section Election Commissions at the Municipal Election Commissions had been processed by 18:00, yesterday. According to this sample, Volen Siderov received some 3.66% of the vote, Stefan Solakov - 2.62%, Atanas Semov - 1.9%, Rumen Hristov - 1.85%, and Svetoslav Vitkov - 1.40%. The CEC did not announce updated information about the final results by the end of the working day.

“In these rough times, we need stability but I worry that if Ivaylo Kalfin is elected, he would hamper the Government’s activity and would strive to cause crisis and early elections,” said Rosen Plevneliev, presidential candidate from GERB (Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria) for bTV yesterday morning. He said that he expected support "from EPP’s sister parties" and "all the other political forces which back the cause of the Government."

“The concentration of power in GERB is not in favour of the country. This was shown by the election results as well," said Ivaylo Kalfin on the "Good Morning, Bulgaria" programme of Focus Radio.

The presidential candidate from the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) does not believe that he will maintain the status quo at the presidential institution. According to Kalfin, "the support of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms for BSP in the second round of the elections is not decisive but it is important."
