Intrigue of space

Bernd Oppl`s series of works Point of View shows works and settings, which deal with the filmic handling of spatiatlity and architecture and with the medial image of space. The starting point of his works are film scenes, in which the setting illustrates a real physical area and is not virtually constructed. Oppl picks out the approach to understand film as architectural art as a central theme, which pictures and transforms space and thus creates new spaces. Space becomes the storyline and readable as narration.



0gms is a project of Steven Guermeur, Ivan Moudov and Kamen Stoyanov. The first presentation was done with a video presented in Salzburg at Salzburger Kunstverein and in Vienna during the Vienna art week in October 2009. In this video 0gms ironises the importance of art market. 0gms opened its office in Vienna and started to develop exhibitions in a drawer (ICA Sofia, Cabaret Voltaire Zurich, Galerie Skuj Lubjana,...). They participate also to Varna Biennale, organise an exhibtion by WhiteSpace in Bangkok, participate to Vienna Art Fair in 2011 and open a Gallery in the center of Sofia, Bulgaria.

Bernd Oppl, born in 1980 in Innsbruck, lives and works in Vienna. Bernd Oppl studied Painting and Graphic Art at the University for Art and Industrial Design in Linz (Diploma 2007). Since 2008 he has studied Video and Video Installation at the Vienna Acadamy of Fine Arts.
