DSB and BANU want fines for rehabilitation of communism

DSB and BANU have a joint idea of financial penalties which are to be imposed on anyone who tries to exculpate communism or denies its criminal nature.

"We are concerned by the frequent attempts in recent years to persuade the people that those who were at the top of the Communist Party are good people and they have no fault for what is happening in Bulgaria," Secretary General of the Agricultural Union Nikolai Nenchev said.

In this connection, the Blue coalition will submit a proposal to change the law which declares the regime criminal and the sanction will be financial.

Asked what the reason for the proposal is, DSB replied that there are many cases and made it clear that the sanctions should not be aimed at people who wear T-shirts with the image of Todor Zhivkov, for example, but at people who proclaim that the regime wasn't criminal.
