Mobile laboratory for synthetic drugs discovered

Police and anti-mafia officers discovered a mobile laboratory for the production of synthetic drugs, the press office of the Interior Ministry announced. 1.5 kilogrammes of amphetamine and about 7 kilogrammes of marijuana were confiscated. The police operation on the territory of Sliven, Blagoevgrad and Sofia was conducted by officers of the Regional Internal Affairs Directorate in Sliven and the General Directorate for Combating Organised Crime under the supervision of the District Prosecution Office in Sliven. Three people were arrested. The team of police and anti-mafia officers stopped two cars on the road from the regional town to the village of Strupets. During an inspection of a Fiat Bravo car, registered in Sliven, the police seized six packages of a total 3 kilogrammes of green foliage, which returned a positive result to the field test for marijuana. The police found a large amount of banknotes in the second car - an Audi registered in Sofia. Five more citizens of Sliven were arrested in subsequent investigative actions. Their homes were searched and the mobile phones, SIM cards, about 1.5 kilogrammes of amphetamine and about 3.5 kilogrammes of marijuana found were seized as well. Additional police actions in the capital city also led to the discovery of a mobile laboratory for synthetic drugs, a tablet press, precursors and materials necessary for the production of drugs, as well as telescopic sight firearms and a large amount of ammunition.

Not far from Sliven, at Shivachevo, a laboratory for growing cannabis was also discovered. The detainees have been charged. Four of them have a detention order for 72 hours. A preliminary legal procedure has been opened. The work on establishing and documenting the criminal activity of the arrested is still continuing.
